Tanz auf einem Kriegsschiff
Early in the morning again the sun showed us the bright beauty of this Nature reserve. We went for a walk along the shore although we did not have enough time to go to the sand dunes like I did as a child with my parents long time ago. Then we went on the ferry which turned out to be an old boat from WWII which carried tanks and soldiers to the cost of the Normandy on D-day. Incredible how those guys went across the Atlantic with an rather small and open ferryboat to then struggle in one of the most cruel parts of a war which led to the end of the inhuman Nazi terror. But my memory didn’t go back this far! Just to the time when our family did the same enjoyable trip from Orient Point to New London to visit my fathers student friend Lee in Boston.
